‘These changes started almost immediately after just one session of Bowen. Tina said she was able to walk down to the shops without becoming breathless. From that point her life changed for the better; she was able to take up running again, work out at the gym and because she felt so much better in herself, family life and relationships improved.’

Lynn works in payroll – a headache at the end of each month for anyone! This particular day was worse than others. Perhaps personal issues, perhaps the change in the weather on top of the normal stress at work led to Lynn having a headache that left her feeling drained and irritable. The day was far from over and she was struggling to cope.

A few minutes was all it took to give her the Bowen Head procedure. A sense of calm spread across her face.

20 minutes later I asked how she was feeling. Lynn had forgotten all about her headache – it had miraculously disappeared! And best of all, she was now able to concentrate on the work in hand. Before it was a struggle – now it was automatic.

Liz was being treated for her bunions. Yes! The Bowen Technique helps reduce bunions!

After treatment Liz sat down and laughingly asked if the Bowen Technique could cure her forefinger. She held it up and demonstrated how she was unable to bend it.

A few months earlier she had injured her finger and her hand in an attempt to pull her two dogs apart whilst they were fighting.

Having had a balancing treatment, I was able to go ahead and do an extra procedure on her elbow and finger.

After treatment, Liz tentatively tried to bend her finger. To her surprise there was full mobility. She could not believe it! She departed overjoyed but wondering at the same time whether it was a fluke. But to this day (3 years later) she still has full mobility.

Jack is blind and has a range of physical and mental disabilities including being blind. If sat he was hunched, having a severe curvature of the upper back. All these factors impacted on his day to day behaviour - a poorly man not happy with life.

As a registered Bowen Technique therapist we receive a quarterly magazine and in one of those I had read and seen a photo of a child who also had a severe curvature of the spine. I was truly amazed how after receiving Bowen over a period of time her posture changed. The after photo now showed her sitting upright, happily playing at her piano!

Well this week I again was amazed. A definite first for Jack. Jack was able to lie down on his front - unheard of by someone who had known him over twenty years! His back was straight! And for the first time he was able to receive the therapy lying down and not seated. There are other changes - his eyes are brighter, he is better tempered, he's more open and he laughs a lot more - what more can you ask than that?

Thank you for giving me treatment on my back and helping me to recover from an injury. I hurt my back when I slipped on some stairs and was in pain when walking for about two weeks. Chrissie gave me some Bowen treatment and immediately the pain eased. Over the next few days my back still ached but I didn’t have any sharp pains and then the pain faded entirely.

‘When Graham first came to see me he had been plagued for years with back pain. His wife, an aromatherapist had helped relieve the discomfort with massage and with infrared treatment but the relief was temporary. Sceptical, he agreed to give Bowen a try. His face dropped when he was told that he had to give playing golf a miss for the week! But two treatments later and he was free of pain!'

When Martin came to see me he was wheel chair bound; his body looked and felt solid; his lower legs were blue and he had frequent muscle spasms. With regular weekly treatments small but significant changes were noted. The colour in his legs returned to a healthy pink, he gradually gained more movement in his legs and the muscle spasms ceased. A year on, yes, he is still wheel chair bound but he is now able to pull himself up in Physio to a standing position and do a number of exercises. Altogether, these improvements are having a knock on effect; he has started to look at and is losing weight, he is drinking more water and his social life has taken an upward turn.
